How can I find a solar water heating installer?

When installing a solar water heating (solar thermal) system, finding a qualified professional installer who can offer you the most competitive price will be very important. Prices sometimes vary very significantly between different installers, so it always pays to "shop around" by getting several quotes from different installers.

How to find installers

To receive financial support through the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), it will be mandatory that your installer as well as the equipment used are certified under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS). The official directory for MCS certified installers and products are available at www.microgenerationcertification.org.

In addition to the MCS certification, some installers voluntarily join other professional bodies that have codes of conduct. An example relevant to solar water heating is the Solar Trade Association, but there are some other professional bodies listed below that may also be good indicators of qualified and competent installers.
